Levy Restaurants signs new £6m deal with Salisbury Cathedral
Levy Restaurants has renewed its contract with Salisbury Cathedral for six more years.
The six-year deal will see the Levy, Compass Group's sports and leisure business, provide catering services at the cathedral's Refectory restaurant following the caterer's investment of £200,000 to refurbish the facilities.
The revamp has added more seating, opened up the kitchen and increased the counter space for customers. Its new offer includes deli-style sandwiches, salads and homemade baked goods.
The deal marks Levy Restaurants UK's 22nd year as the cathedral's chosen caterer.
Colin Bailey, managing director at Levy Restaurants UK, said: "We're extremely pleased to see our partnership with Salisbury Cathedral. Next year is a really important year for the cathedral and we're looking forward to working in partnership with them to create a memorable guest experience for their visitors."
Chapter clerk at Salisbury Cathedral, Katie Sporle, said that the contract extension and refurbishment had happened on budget and on time, and that customers had been pleased with the results.
She added: "We are confident we have a fantastic platform on which to continue to develop the business in partnership over the next six years."
Part of Compass Group UK, the Levy Restaurants brand operates major contracts at venues across the sports, leisure and hospitality sectors. Recent contracts include a £23.8m signing with exhibition halls Earls Court and Olympia, and a four-year deal with Bristol Zoo, worth over £900,000.
