Kudos signs £10m Harrogate International Centre catering deal
Foodservice firm Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has signed new a five-year catering and hospitality contract at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC), worth £10m.
The company first won a contract with the conference centre and exhibition hall in 1999, and has renewed it ever since, providing food and beverage choices across eight halls and 18,500 sq m. The venue can accommodate up to 2,000 guests.
Kudos's successful bid focused on creating an offer that would reflect popular trends, including the best of British, street food, spending austerity, local sources, seasonality, health and digital connectivity. Of the six regional suppliers used, four are within one mile of the venue.
Jon Pryce, Kudos managing director, said: "The tender gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how creative the team can be whilst still delivering great food and service on a day to day level."
Director at HIC Simon Kent added: "We were looking for a radical change in the way the catering was being delivered across the whole event space at HIC and how it was received by the guests. The dynamic ideas and innovation that were demonstrated by Kudos have led us to believe that the team can not only evolve, but lead us over the next five years."
Kudos operates a variety of food and beverage contracts across the UK, with recently contracts including a £500,000 deal with Heron Apartments in London; a £4.3m contract with Methodist Central Hall in Westminster, a £3m deal with MediaCityUK, in Salford, and a roaming "Haute Dog" street food van in Harrogate.
