James Shanks to lead Venners food consultancy service

James Shanks (pictured) has been appointed to lead Venners' food consultancy service.

The move comes after the business set up a new suite of services in 2012 that analyses food costs, identifies operational shortfalls, and highlights the causes of margin erosion in a food-led environment.

Shanks has spent more than 10 years auditing hospitality businesses throughout the UK, and a further 10 as operations manager for Venners.

"James has been heavily involved since its inception. He and his team are incredibly passionate about the business of hospitality and are providing an amazing return on investment for our customers" said Trevor Heyburn, managing director of Venners.

Venners employs around 170 stocktakers and auditors across the country.
