Independent caterer Palmer & Howells wins Somerset school meals deal
Independent caterer Palmer & Howells has won a three year contract to provide school meals at Wellington School in Somerset.
Worth £1.5m in total, the new win sees the Bristol-based caterer provide services to the school's 750 day and boarding pupils.
Kevin Howells, director, said: "We have made a deliberate choice to remain an independent company working within two hours of our Bristol base. It allows us to offer a unique service and rapid response from senior management. The new contracts we are winning show this is a recipe for success".
The contract, which began at the start of the 2010 summer term, follows a string of new education contract wins in Solihull, Edgbaston and Reading worth around £1.8m in total.
