Graysons secures £6m deal with Francis Crick Institute

Catering firm Graysons has secured a new three-year deal with the Francis Crick Institute in London that is expected to generate more than £6m in total turnover.

The contract will see Graysons manage the 300-cover staff restaurant and the staff café for the 1,500 people on site. Graysons will also be responsible for running the public café and providing hospitality services for meeting rooms and events.

The Crick is a multi-disciplinary biomedical research institute which works to find new ways to treat, diagnose and prevent illnesses and diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative conditions. It is a partnership between six of the UK's most successful scientific and academic institutions and aims to create a world leading centre for research in London. A new laboratory for the institute is currently under construction, next to St Pancras, and is scheduled for completion later this year.

The contract award comes shortly after Graysons' other recent contract wins at the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Christ Church Spitalfields. Matt Thomas, head of Soft FM at the Francis Crick Institute said: ‘'We put together a very rigorous and challenging tender process in order to find a catering partner who has the same ethos, vision, and quality as the institute."

Simona Oproiu, business development director at Graysons said: ‘'This is such an amazing contract for us, to work with such passionate and great people who have such vision and who want their catering services to be modern and fresh and innovative. We are so proud to have secured the contract and to be a partner for the Crick and it cements our strategy for growth in the business and industry sector in central London."

Graysons are already working with the Crick to plan and manage the catering for the migration of staff to the new building.
