Glass-like plastic from Roltex

Three new lines of polycarbonate drinkware from Belgian maker Roltex offer an upmarket solution for locations such as pools, spas and leisure centres that cannot risk broken glass. It is claimed to be virtually unbreakable and chip-free yet provides a glass-like, crystal-clear appearance unachievable with SAN or polystyrene plastic drinkware. Polycarbonate is also said to be an excellent insulator, fully recycable, dishwasher-safe, microwaveable, and able to withstand temperature extremes from 120°C to -100°C. Top is a range of stemware, Champagne flutes, hi-balls, shots, cocktail glasses, and stackable pints and half-pints. The upmarket Star offers two tumblers and a pitcher with a cut-glass effect, while Smart provides a robust pitcher with three sizes of stackable tumblers.
