Enter Hospitality Action's Christmas auction online now
There's just one day left to take part in the annual Hospitality Action (HA) Christmas online auction. The auction, now in its sixth year, offers a selection of items donated by HA's supporters. All funds raised will go to support the work of HA, the hospitality industry's benevolent organisation.
Offers include a luxury two-night stay for two at the InterContinental Paris-Le Grand with breakfast in the Café de la Paix; a meal for two at the Michelin-star restaurant Nahm at the Halkin Hotel; and a selection of hampers, chocolates, cookbooks and Champagne.
The auction will close at 2pm tomorrow (Friday, 4 December). Visit the HA website at www.hospitalityaction.org.uk and follow the link to start bidding.
Last year the auction raised nearly £3,500 and HA hopes to set a new record figure for 2009.
HA has also announced the publication of its new Christmas ecard. For a donation (minimum £50), an electronic mince pie Christmas ecard will be available for recipients to use as many times as required. To purchase the ecard please contact Giuliana Vittiglio on 020 3004 5504 or at gvittiglio@hospitalityaction.org.uk
In 2008 Hospitality Action spent over £450,000 supporting 1,497 people. The charity provided vital communication and assistance to 1,132 Family Members (retirees of the industry who have grown isolated over the years). They also reached 10,764 students in 214 colleges and universities via the Ark Foundation which educates hospitality students, employees and management to the dangers of drug and alcohol dependency.
Earlier this week, iconic chef Anton Mosimann helped raise more than £13,000 for HA at fundraising dinner held at his eponymous private club in London.
