Delaware North wins Charlton Athletic catering deal

Delaware North has announced a five-year deal to provide the catering at the Valley, the home of Charlton Athletic FC.

The deal starts from the 2014/15 season and is worth a multi-million pound turnover for the caterer.

As part of the deal, Delaware North will offer a new look and feel for meetings and events and a rejuvenation of the food offer in the fan areas.

Doug Tetley, managing director at Delaware North Companies (UK), said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the contract at Charlton Athletic and are looking forward to bringing to life the ideas and concepts we discussed with the team at Charlton during the tender process.

"The Valley is a historic stadium in the heart of the south-east London community and we are proud to have added the venue to our select portfolio of UK stadiums."

Ben Kensell, chief commercial officer at Charlton Athletic, added: "I am really pleased to announce this partnership with Delaware North Companies. It's an excellent deal and we have had to work hard to get the right partners to ensure the club's visions, values and ambitions are aligned.

"The step change this partnership will create will be there for everyone to see. Delaware North will be taking over the entire catering operation and non-matchday conference and banqueting business here at the Valley.

"Going forward you will see significant investment into the facility, the people, the processes and the product delivered to Charlton Athletic fans on matchdays and customers on non-matchdays."
