Cucina Restaurants signs £500k Southfield School for Girls deal
School foodservice firm Cucina Restaurants has signed a £500,000 five-year contract with Southfield School for Girls in Kettering; a renewal of its first ever school contract.
Valued at £536,719, the five-year deal marks an extension of the company's first ever contract, which it signed with the school in 2006. There is also an option to extend this contract for two extra years.
The school specialises in sports and science, with 1,030 girls aged 11-18 enrolled. Headteacher Julie Goswell said that Cucina Restaurants had provided the school with excellent service, and varied, healthy food, since 2006.
She said: "We were delighted to be able to renew the contract with Cucina for a further 5 years. I have not eaten food in any other school canteen that can equal that offered by Cucina."
Cucina's managing director, Steve Quinn, said: "Southfield School was our first ever contract and our relationship with the school has gone from strength to strength."
Cucina has significant contracts across a host of UK schools, including Bushey Academy in Hertfordshire, and Stockley Academy in Middlesex.
It also announced plans for its first standalone restaurant in Oxford, in December last year, while chief executive Quinn last week called for school food quality to be linked to Ofsted reports.
