Couture wins £2.5m Elstree Studios contract
Concession caterer Couture has won a £2.5m five-year contract to run the in-house bar, canteen, coffee shop and stage catering at the Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.
The deal, which marks Couture's second film studio contract after picking up Pinewood last year, will commence on 16 August when the coffee shop at Elstree will re-open.
Couture will then oversee a rolling refurbishment programme of facilities over the following months. The catering operation will include the event spaces and extend to corporate events, weddings and civil partnerships.
Couture will also market the corporate facilities available externally at Elstree, which has been home to TV series such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Dancing on Ice and Big Brother as well as being the studio where Star Wars and the Indiana Jones feature films were made.
Marc Warde, managing director at Couture, said: "We are delighted to be opening our second TV and film studio venue. Elstree Studios has some great facilities and some really exciting projects in the studios over the next year, which we are proud to be part of. We hope to repeat the success we have had at Pinewood here and put our studio catering know-how into practice."
Roger Morris, managing director of Elstree Studios, added: "We want to totally change the image and quality of our current catering experience and we are confident that that is exactly what Couture will do."
Couture said that it improved catering sales at Pinewood by 25% in just a year.
