Top Edinburgh hotel to sell the bed stars slept in Tom Jones and Christina Aguilera have all snuggled down under its covers. But the bed from the Presidential Suite at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa will offer comfort to less illustrious occupants in future after the company announced it was donating it to charity. The bed, along with pillows, sheets and duvets, is one of 400 which are being offered to a good cause when the 260-room hotel invests £360,000 on new beds and linen for every one of its rooms. - The Scotsman, 11 March
Croydon hotel bought by Irish property group
The Irish property firm Howard Holdings has spent â¬36m (£25m) buying the Croydon Park Hotel close to Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace football club in London. It is thought that Clarion Hotels is also involved in the deal, as an operator of the hotel. - Irish Independent, 12 March
Hotel offer £53m robbery tourism tours A hotel is cashing in on Britain's biggest robbery - by offering themed weekend breaks based on the £53m Securitas raid in Kent. The Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge is advertising a tour of the key sites involved in the heist as part of a £100-a-night package. - Sunday Mirror, 12 March
Scottish pubs sue for smoke ban compensation Scottish bars are planning an £85m compensation claim against the Scottish parliament to cover drink sales lost as a result of the impending smoking ban. Scotland on Sunday can reveal that the Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA) has appointed lawyers to prepare a case that will be launched a few months after the ban comes into effect at the end of this month. - Scotland on Sunday, 12 March
