Compass Group's Nick Vadis leads England's Culinary World Cup Team to scoop silver medals

Compass Group was among the winners at this year's Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg as the English delegation took home 12 medals from the four-day competition.

The representatives for England, a team of 10 chefs from across the industry led by the foodservice provider's culinary director Nick Vadis, picked up 12 silver medals at the event.

Held between 24-28 November, this global culinary contest featured a wide array of categories and awards. The event saw entries from 30 national teams and 15 junior national teams while 38 countries in total also submitted regional teams.

National teams were tasked with two briefs - to man a 110-cover hot kitchen and to prepare a cold kitchen buffet.

Vadis said: "I am extremely proud of all our chefs who either supported, or competed, in the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg.

"To have chefs competing as individuals, plus a regional team and also the National Team England, is a credit to our business and the investment in nurturing the talent we have within the UK.

"They are all true ambassadors for their craft, and I would like to thank each and every one of them for their commitment, skill and dedication."
