Compass Group deputy chairman Peter Cawdron is to step down from the company next February.

Cawdron, who has been a non-executive director at the caterer for 13 years, will not seek re-election at the company's annual general meeting on 16 February.

Chairman Roy Gardner said: "I would like to place on record the board's appreciation of Peter Cawdron's enormous commitment and dedication to the company."
