Company of Cooks' Mike Lucy in new venture with former employee
Company of Cooks founder Mike Lucy has partnered with former employee Rajesh Regmi for a new catering contract worth £4.8m.
Trading under the name Green & Pleasant, the pair have come together to work on a multi-venue five year deal with five year option to extend at Nene Park in Peterborough.
"I have been trading at the Ferry Meadow Café in Nene Park for the last seven months as Regmi & Sons when the Watersports Centre came up for tender," explained Regmi, who worked at Company of cooks as location manager for over six years before deciding to go it alone.
"Mike came to see me and loved the Park and the vision so we decided to venture for the Watersports Centre together and if successful to operate both venues under Green & Pleasant."
The Watersports Centre is currently undergoing a £2.5m refurbishment, which is expected to open with the revamped Lakeside Bar & Kitchen next April.
Commenting on the new business relationship, Lucy said: "It's great to be asked to join the business, started by one of our really good managers. I was really pleased for Raj when he started and I'm very happy that he's asked me to get involved.
"The company we've formed, this particular partnership, has great prospects."
