Chefs asked to help in schools over Food Fortnight

Chefs and restaurateurs are being called on to help educate schoolchildren about food during British Food Fortnight, to be held in the autumn.

To mark the event, which will run from 18 September to 3 October, schools in England and Wales will hold food-related lessons or activities.

Chefs and restaurateurs can contact their local schools and help teachers by offering talks, tastings or cookery demonstrations. Alexia Robinson, organiser of British Food Fortnight, said: "Food is fun. And what better way to learn about it than meeting the people responsible for producing, selling and cooking it?"
