Charlton House wins northern contracts worth a combined £550,000

Independent caterer Charlton House has announced two new contracts in the north of England worth more than £550,000 in combined annual turnover.

The first is a new three-year deal with consumer products business PZ Cussons, the group behind brands such as Imperial Leather, Charles Worthington and The Sanctuary. Charlton House will provide breakfast, an all-day coffee shop and hospitality services at the firm's new corporate headquarters in Manchester Business Park, which opened 19 April.

Meanwhile the electrical retailing group DSGi has extended its relationship with Charlton House. The caterer will now manage DSGi's staff restaurant, deli coffee shop and vending service for 950 employees in a seven-day operation at the group's customer contact centre in Sheffield.

Charlton House has managed the catering operations at the group's corporate headquarters in Hemel Hempstead since 2006, and went on to gain the group's distribution centre in Newark one year later. In all, the company caters for almost 3,500 DSGi employees nationwide.

Caroline Fry, managing director of Charlton House, said: "We are extremely pleased to be extending our relationship with DSGi. All credit must go to our operational and on-site teams who work very hard to deliver an outstanding service, and this has given our client the confidence to extend the business.

"Our reputation for providing healthy food in the workplace is extending far beyond London and the south east, resulting in great regional interest and business growth."

Emily Hill, DSGi senior category manager in DSGi's Retail Support Purchasing team, said: "We carried out a full review of the catering services at our Sheffield Contact Centre. Charlton House won this contract on cost and had the added advantage of already providing an excellent standard of food and service at DSGi's Retail Support Centre and Newark Distribution Centres."
