Catering overhaul for Leicester Racecourse
Leicester Racecourse has appointed a new catering manager, Andy Mullen, and head chef, Darrell Conlin, in a bid to quadruple its non-race day activities.
General manager Rob Bracken, who took up the post in March 2014, believes catering at the track plays a crucial part in encouraging business year-round.
New catering manager Andy Mullen has 35 years' hospitality experience and has previously worked as general manager at Worcester Racecourse. He plans to encourage events by launching new menus. The racecourse is also unveiling a new golf course next year which is thought will also improve business.
Mullen said: "Leicester Racecourse is already a wonderful venue but what I particularly love about the team is their passion to keep improving. All focus is on our first class conferencing facilities, our clients, our fans and providing top class catering to compliment them perfectly."
Bracken added: "This is a new era for us and we're dedicated to offering the best to everybody who comes here. I know Andy and Darrell are going to deliver something very special here at the racecourse. They also share my passion to support local suppliers and produce which is key to our philosophy."
