Catering Academy secures £18m in new business in a month

Contract caterer Catering Academy has announced that it has secured 16 new contracts, which will represent £18m worth of business over three years.

The new wins add to the £5m it has already secured in 2013. They are predominantly in the education sector and include deals at Cambridge Regional College, Kingston Maurward College, Reading College and four new academy schools.

The additional £6m per year will push Catering Academy towards an annual turnover of £35m.

The new wins follow the appointment of three regional directors: Clare Flanagan, Kevin Green, and Lesley Pekun.

Catering Academy's founder director Kevin Cannon said: "The appointment of a new national craft team, which is headed up by our executive chef Mark Owen, has added significantly to our fresh food offer and innovative menu compilation, driving cost effective food solutions that offer value as well as fantastic tasting food."

The caterer currently operates more than 140 contracts across the education, B&I and healthcare sectors.
