Caterers and hotels well represented at 2010 Eventia awards
Caterers and hotels were well represented at the 2010 Eventia Awards, which recognises outstanding business-to-business and business-to-consumer both overseas and in the UK.
Sodexo Prestige received three honours at the ceremony held at Hilton Park Lane, including gold for best hospitality event for its work at The Open Championship 2010. Stoke Park Country Club and Hotel in Berkshire won silver for the O2 Golf Live Event.
Sodexo Prestige also took gold in the event hotel or venue of the year (251-750 capacity) category for its contract at Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums. The Crown Group‘s Seasoned Events took bronze for its venue management operations at the Royal Courts of Justice.
However Seasoned Events pipped Sodexo Prestige to the post in the event hotel or venue of the year (under 250 capacity) category, winning gold for its Tower Bridge Walkways contract. Sodexo Prestige won silver for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh - The Gateway.
ACC Liverpool, which has catering delivered by Heathcotes Outside, won venue event team of the year for its team at the BT Convention Centre Liverpool, with silver going to Searcy's at the Hurlingham Club.
The positions were reversed in the event or venue of the year (over 751 capacity) category, which saw gold awarded to Searcys at the Hurlingham Club and ACC Liverpool named a finalist. Sofitel London Heathrow took silver.
