Brocade quintet by Villeroy & Boch

The delicate texture of fabric brocade is the inspiration for five lines of hotel-quality white china tableware launched by Villeroy & Boch under the Brocade banner. The Sevilla and Sedona ranges each comprise six plates with the same diameter (290-300mm) but centres of differing sizes and depths - three flat plates, two soup plates and a coupe flat plate without a distinctive centre. The white-on-white relief patterning takes a circular form on Sevilla and an arabesque/Moorish style on the Sedona. The scalloped-rimmed Rhondo Blanco and Ligna lines comprise 13 items including plates, platters, patterned saucers and cups that feature relief patterns on the flatware but not the hollow-ware. The Ligna range has an embossed-metal effect, while the retro and baroque pattern on Rhondo Blanco pieces resemble forged iron ornaments. The Madagascar line comprises four sizes of cup for serving salads, vegetables or soups with a jungle relief pattern along with two matching rectangular saucers that are curved like waves or scrolls.
