Bite Catering recruits Simon Macfarlane and Liz Cummins

Bite Catering has announced two new appointments to its management team. Simon Macfarlane joins from Restaurant Associates as Bite's new director of operations, while Liz Cummins takes on the role of sales director, in a move from CH&Co.

Macfarlane, who will oversee the caterer's growing workplace client portfolio, was at Restaurant Associates for more than five years and has also held roles with boutique operator Artizian as well as Wilson Storey (now Baxterstorey).

He is expected to use his operational experience to develop Bite's proposition for potential clients, with an emphasis on elevating the skills of the front-of-house teams to match the passion and training of the chefs.

In the role of sales director, Cummins will focus on ensuring all Bite operations deliver on its promises of serving the individual needs of a business, its employees and its bottom line. She will work closely with managing director Nick Parker to grow Bite's base of clients.

As well as more than five years' experience as business development manager at CH&Co, Cummins possesses a strong understanding of the hands-on side of catering and hospitality as she is a trained chef and restaurant manager. Her past experience includes managerial roles at Rules Restaurant in London, Le Meridien and Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire.

Parker described 2011 as a big year for Bite and welcomed Macfarlane and Cummins to the team. "Both have outstanding track records in their individual fields as well as specialist, practical experience on top," he added. "I'm sure that both Simon and Liz will be real assets to our people here at Bite, as well as our clients."
