Ampersand awarded £2.5m art gallery contract

Ampersand has been awarded a £2.5m contract to provide catering at Compton Verney, an art gallery in Warwickshire.

The company said it would help the existing team enhance the overall visitor experience in the gallery's 10th anniversary year.

Compton Verney, near Stratford-upon-Avon, and is a state-of-the-art gallery housed in Grade I listed Georgian mansion, surrounded by 120 acres of parkland landscaped by Lancelot "Capability" Brown in 1769.

Ampersand's contract to provide visitor catering and events services exclusively at the venue is worth approximately £2.5m over five years.

On site, Compton Verney has a 100-cover serviced restaurant offering a la carte dining and a café which offers visitors a more informal option. Both are open Tuesday to Sunday between mid-February and mid-December. In the warmer months there will also be a mobile facility and pop-up units in the grounds selling ice-cream and drinks. In addition to helping with these operations, Ampersand will provide the catering for hire events at Compton Verney such as weddings, private parties and product launches.
