Absolute Taste to reopen public facing site at Newmarket's Palace House

Newmarket's Palace House will have reopen its public-facing restaurant the Tack Room after partnering with foodservice firm Absolute Taste.

The site had closed after operating firm Tack Room Newmarket ceased trading, prompting the management of Palace House to seek an alternative offering

Now Absolute Taste has taken over the operation, rejuvinating the site and pledging to provide an all-day meal offering with local produce from regional suppliers whenever possible.

Gary Kennerley, managing director of Absolute Taste said: "We are thrilled to re-open The Tack Room and invite the local community as well as the museum's visitors to taste our wonderful new menu. With the summer months almost upon us, The Tack Room offers the ideal location for guests to kick back and enjoy a delicious meal on the restaurant's beautiful terrace area whilst enjoying a day out at Palace House.

"Absolute Taste is always keen to support the local community, and as such we have incorporated many local suppliers into The Tack Room's menu, ensuring visitors will experience fresh and memorable flavours".

Palace House, the remaining part of Charles II's racing palace, is also home to the National Horse Racing Museum and Packard Galleries of British Sporting Art. It was formally opened to the public by the Queen in 2016, and hosts a number of retired racehorses on its grounds.

Rachel Hood, the venue's chair of trustees, added: "We are delighted that Absolute Taste is joining us at Palace House to re-open and manage the Tack Room restaurant.

"Their many years of experience of providing high class fare to venues in the heritage, cultural and sports sectors make them the ideal partners to revitalise the wonderful restaurant setting of the Tack Room in the King's Yard.

"Absolute's offering at Burghley House is renowned and we believe bringing those high standards to the Tack Room restaurant at Palace House will perfectly complement its wonderful setting."
