Fire forces closure of Staffordshire restaurant

JR's Texas Smokehouse restaurant in Chorlton, Staffordshire, has been forced to close after a fire broke out at the property in the early hours of this morning.

No-one was injured however fire fighters and police officers remain at the scene.

The restaurant posted on social media: "We apologise to everyone that had bookings this season and we will be reaching out to everyone that we can electronically. However our diary has also been lost. We were looking forward to a post covid holiday season with our wonderful customers."

Fire fighters were called at 3.48am to the restaurant on Stone Road. Crews from Loggerheads and Newcastle attended, followed by Burslem and Hanley on-call fire fighters. Crews also received an aerial platform from Longton.

On arrival, crews found the building well alight and used four breathing apparatus and two hose-reel jets to extinguish the fire.
