Cyrus Todiwala cuts ties with Tandem restaurant in Leicester three months after opening

"Differences in vision" have seen chef Cyrus Todiwala cut ties with Tandem restaurant in Leicester, three months after opening.

Todiwala, behind Café Spice Namasté and Mr Todiwala's kitchen, had launched the restaurant in the Highcross shopping centre with a business partner, in October 2019.

The chef said: "It is true that I am no longer connected with Tandem in Leicester. Unfortunately, there were differences in vision going forward and I decided it was best to pull back.

"People who know me will appreciate that this decision did not come lightly; there is always a great deal of passion and commitment invested in a new venture. But hopefully there will be good things to come out of this for everyone involved."

The site, which had a focus on Indian cuisine from across the subcontinent and cocktail mixology, is based in a 150-cover Grade II-listed building.
