Independent school caterer Holroyd Howe has named Acorn and Catey Award winner Amy Roberts managing director of operations.

In the newly created role, healthy eating champion Roberts will spearhead the independent school caterers' operational teams across the UK, unifying its approach across operations, food innovation, chef development, nutrition, sustainability and marketing.

Roberts has worked at Holroyd Howe for more than four years during which time she has implemented a sustainability strategy for over 200 schools' and introduced an industry accredited programme, enabling over 10,000 pupils a year to be educated on the importance of nutrition.

Ronan Harte, chief executive at Holroyd Howe, said: "Amy brings the very best of Holroyd Howe to the schools we work with.

"The new role will see her lead with an innovative and tailored approach, whilst maintaining consistency in the quality of service and food we provide. Amy has all the ingredients to lead our operations team, bringing excellence to the schools we work with and ensuring our clients benefit from her hands-on style."

Roberts added: "Working exclusively in the independent schools' sector, we have always absolutely understood the specific challenges our clients face and been able to adapt to support their needs.

"We are now working closely with schools to ensure they are fully prepared, equipped, and supported for pupils and staff to safely return in September. We will bring a unique offer to each of our schools with bespoke dining solutions and stunning food offers that are creative, tasty, sustainable, and nutritious."
