Allan Pickett appointed head chef at L'oscar London

Allan Pickett has been appointed head chef at the L'oscar London hotel restaurant in Holborn.

Pickett was previously part of the opening team for London's Standard hotel as executive head chef of the hotel's ground-floor outlets, as well as holding the same role at the Swan at the Globe Theatre and head chef at Orrery restaurant, where he retained its Michelin star. He also owned Piquet restaurant in Fitzrovia between 2014 and 2016.

He has replaced Stuart Conibear, who left the role this month. Tony Fleming opened the hotel in 2018 as executive chef and food and beverage director, however left in 2019 to rejoin D&D London.

Owned by Triangle Hotels and Resorts, L'oscar opened following a £40m transformation of an Edwardian Baroque building, which was originally the headquarters of the Baptist Union.
