Surrey pub sold to local licensee

A local licensee has bought a brand new Punch lease on the Rose and Crown in the Surrey village of Thorpe Green, near Virginia Water and Egham.

The pub, which trades under the Chef and Brewer banner, is a popular dining destination and is part of the group of 500 former Spirit managed pubs that Christie + Co offered to the lease market.

Food accounts for more than half the £800,800 annual turnover at the pub, which can seat 89 customers across the bar and restaurant and another 128 in the patio area of the rear beer garden.

The property includes two-bedroom owners' accommodation and a staff changing room.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co sold the brand new lease to Clive Price (who owns two other leasehold pubs) for £112,000. Rent is set at £85,000 per month.
