S&N sells Airdrie bar to Glasgow-based operator

Scottish and Newcastle Pub Enterprises has sold the Wayside Bar in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, to Jaguar Scotland Estates, which owns and operates a number of bars in and around Glasgow.

The Wayside is a traditional bar occupying a two-storey building on Chapel Street that offers separate lounge and public bars with their own entrances.

Both the 30-seat public bar (with pool table) and the 50-seat lounge bar have a timber bar servery and shelved gantry.

Unusually for Scotland, the bar offers extensive owners' accommodation on the first floor that includes three double bedrooms, a dining kitchen, a bathroom and a games room.

Chartered surveyor Creevy LHH sold the freehold off an asking price in excess of £290,000.
