Paignton tavern sold to former Torbay hotelier

Sue Yates, who formerly ran two hotels in Torbay, has returned to the hospitality industry with the purchase of the leasehold interest in the popular Embassy Tavern in Paignton, Devon.

The inn is located just off Colin Road, close to the seafront, and is renowned for its summer floral displays which won it the Torbay in Bloom award in 2006.

It can seat up to 90 guests inside across the open-plan bar and dining area and the main bar with a small stage and dance floor. Outside, there is seating for another 80 guests.

The spacious owners' accommodation consists of four bedrooms (including three en-suite doubles), a dining room, kitchen, utility room, office and roof terrace.

Licensed property agent Bettesworths sold the leasehold interest off an asking price of £119,950. The pub is owned by Enterprise Inns and held on a Unique Pub Company lease.
