Father and son team buy popular Somerset local

Father and son team Chris and Danny Bull are the new owners of the Volunteer Arms in Brigwater, Somerset.

The popular local inn is a detached, two-storey property in a residential area on the outskirts of Brigwater.

It comprises a main bar, a 60-seat function room, a skittle alley and bar, a 16-seat meeting room on the first floor, and an enclosed trade garden.

The property also includes private accommodation with three bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge and a kitchen.

The team and club-oriented pub has its own skittles, darts and euchre teams and serves as a venue for the local pigeon club and two carnival clubs.

It is a popular venue for weddings, christenings, parties and meetings, and the new owners plan to add live music and cabaret to the mix.

The Bulls are also expanding the food offer beyond Sunday roasts to offer lunchtime and evening pub grub.

Property agent Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold of the inn of an asking price of £70,000 on behalf of Trevor and Sandra Palmer.
