Dorset country inn with rooms on the market

A food-led pub with rooms on the edge of Blackmoor Vale in Dorset has been put on the market for a guide price of £895,000.

The Hunter's Moon is an 18th century inn located alongside the A352 Dorchester to Sherborne road in the hamlet of Middlemarsh.

Period features include quarry tile floors, exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces.

The business comprises three character bars, a 26-seat restaurant, eight luxury en-suite bedrooms created from the old stables, skittle alley and log store, four-bedroom owners' accommodation, a beer garden and a large car park.

It has built up a reputation for its home-cooked food (which accounts for 70% of sales), real ales and fine wines.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co is handling the sale of the freehold on behalf of Brendan Malone and family. Malone has invested more than £300,000 in the property since he acquired the shell in 2001.
