Fife hoteliers deny fraud charges

Two Fife hoteliers pleaded not guilty to fraud charges levelled against them earlier this week.

Andrew and Lesley Dykes, owners of the 16-bedroom Crusoe hotel in Lower Largo (pictured) and former owners of Dunnikier House in Kirkcaldy, have been charged with being knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion of VAT amounting to more than £740,156 between 1 August 2011 and 31 July 2016.

They were also charged with submitting returns to HMRC containing false information and failing to submit VAT returns. A hearing was set for 3 September 2019.

Doug and Sarah Philip acquired the 15-bedroom listed Dunnikier House from the Dykes.
