Sodexo extends contract with Northern Devon Healthcare Trust
Sodexo has extended its contract with Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust for a further three years.
The facilities management giant provides a range of services to the trust including catering, cleaning, portering, helpdesk and reception, security and a courier provision. It employs 300 people at the site.
The extension, which will take the partnership with the trust to 26 years, will see investment in the refurbishment of the shop and café areas of North Devon District Hospital.
Stuart Winters, chief executive of Healthcare, Sodexo UK and Ireland, said: "We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with the trust, which will see us working together for a total of 26 years. During this time we have developed a strong relationship and have more than two decades worth of insight in the provision of great patient experience.
"We are looking forward to continuing to work with North Devon District Hospital in revitalising the food and retail areas of the hospital and in providing vital courier services for integrated health and social care community services across the region."
Iain Roy, director of facilities at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, said: "The trust has been working with Sodexo for over two decades and over this time our partnership has become stronger and stronger. Our non-clinical staff from Sodexo are an integral part of providing quality care and a good experience to our patients, visitors and staff.
"In the latest national patient survey of overnight hospital care we achieved some of the highest scores in the country for patients feeling well looked after by non-clinical staff, which is testament to the excellent relationship we have, and will now continue, with Sodexo."
