Bartlett Mitchell appoints David Steel as chef director for business development

David Steel has been appointed as Bartlett Mitchell's chef-director for business development after two and a half years with the firm.

Steel, who previously served as a development chef, will now turn his hand to supporting and developing the firm's new and established contracts. His previous experience includes senior chef roles in the foodservice sector with contracts at Barclays and Sky TV.

The promotion puts him among the three most senior chefs in the company, alongside chef-director Pete Redman and chef-consultant Adam Byatt. Last year the firm celebrated its seventh consecutive year of double-digit turnover growth as numbers climbed to £39m.

Steel said: "I feel incredibly proud, honoured and privileged to be promoted to chef director of business development. It is great to be part of such an amazing company that lets you express yourself and really stay true to their values and their people.

"We have a great team at Bartlett Mitchell and I look forward to working alongside Pete Redman and to help build on the great foundations that have already been laid."

Wendy Bartlett, executive chairman of Bartlett Mitchell, added: "David's enthusiasm, drive and passion to successfully complete a project, coupled with his culinary skills, makes him a truly valued member of the BM family.

"We are delighted to have such a talented chef and great leader in our business. This promotion is testament to the hard work and focus David has consistently demonstrated since he joined our business."
