Thwaites spends £1.93m on five new pubs
Lancashire brewer and pub operator Thwaites has splashed out £1.93m on five pubs in the north of England and Wales marking the beginning of an acquisitive expansion plan.
On top of the outlay for the pubs a further £230,000 will be spent on refurbishing all five of the pubs in the purchase.
Thwaites customer marketing manager Richard Ball said: "We are delighted with the acquisitions, which underline our commitment to maintain Thwaites as the leading northern brewer.
"We are constantly looking to add to our pub estate and we are particularly excited with these latest purchases."
Thwaites has approximately 400 pubs in their portfolio, predominantly in Northern England and Wales.
The pubs bought are The George & Dragon in Ripon; The Commercial, Golcar in Huddersfield; Ye Olde Scotch Arms in Cumbria; The Griffin in North Yorkshire and The Pwl Gwyn in Flintshire,Wales.
