S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 semi-finalists announced

Ten young chefs have been selected to compete for the opportunity to represent the UK and Ireland in the final of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition.

The winner will compete in the Grand Finale in Milan, Italy, in June 2018, alongside the representative of 21 other countries.

The UK and Ireland semi-final, which will be judged by a jury of chefs made up of Angela Hartnett, Alyn Williams, Philip Howard and Mickael Viljanen, will take place on 4 October.

The UK semi-finalists are: David Scarpato of Scarpatos Catering; Michael Tweedie of the Oak Room at Adare Manor, Adare, County Limerick; Killian Crowley of Aniar restaurant, Galway City; Romuald Bukaty of the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport; Lee-James Hickey of the Royal Air Force Club, London; Brandon Clemens of Kaspar's at the Savoy, London; Francesco Di Marzio of the Greenhouse restaurant, Mayfair, London; James Cousins of Restaurant Associates; Matthew Ramsdale of the Chester Grosvenor; and Michael Turner of Bread Street Kitchen, London.

To compete in each national semi-final, chefs submitted a signature dish which was judged by representatives from the International School of Italian Cuisine (ALMA).
