S&N board shake-up plan denied

British brewer Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has declined to comment on newspaper reports that it has hired headhunters to find a replacement for its executive chairman Brian Stewart and younger executives for its board.
Reports suggested Stewart, 56, would step down into the role of non-executive chairman.
The reports also claimed it was unclear whether 55-year-old managing director Guy Dickson would remain. A company spokeswoman said there were no plans for Stewart or Dickson to move.
