Pig on the Beach to open in June

Bookings have opened for Robin Hutson's fourth Pig hotel, which is set to open on the Dorset coast in June.

Located on the cliff top above Studland Bay, the 23-bedroom Pig on the Beach is currently being restored from what was formally the Manor House hotel which dates back to 1825.

The hotel had originally been scheduled to open in June 2013, but protracted negotiations with the National Trust, which owns the freehold of the property, with regard the refurbishment has delayed the project.

Following the ethos of the original Pig hotel in the New Forest, the Pig on the Beach will grow much of its produce within a walled garden, with the rest being supplied from within a radius of 25 miles.

As well as a greenhouse restaurant, it will also have a room for private dinner parties and two treatment rooms.

Hotel director of the Pig on the Beach will be Lora Strizic, who previously opened the Pig in the Forest, having joined the group from Hotel du Vin.
