New-look Bouchard wins gold
The presence of the 1995 International Wine & Spirit Competition at Vinexpo in Bordeaux last month has added considerably to the weight of this important annual event. Producers, agencies and merchants alike are setting great value on awards received.
A recent notable success was Bouchard Père et Fils, which won a gold medal for its Volnay Fremiets, Clos de la Rougeotte 1990. The company also won a silver for its Meursault Genevrières, Premier Cru 1992. It received bronzes for its Beaune du Château Premier Cru 1990 and its Meursault Clos des Corvées de Citeaux 1993.
Bouchard Päre et Fils has the largest holding of grand cru and premier cru vineyard on the Côte d'Or. The company was recently acquired by the Champagne house Henriot.
