Legal move to stop review
A COMPANY that has tendered to build a conference centre in Dublin has been given permission in the Dublin High Court to seek a judicial review to quash a move to vet applications for a second time.
Five groups had tendered for the development of the centre, which has attracted a £32m EU grant.
A tender evaluation team reported to MBPD, the Tourism Department's grant-approving body, but MBPD declared that none of the applicants had met all the necessary criteria and announced that a new body would consider the application procedures again.
Spencer Dock International Convention Centre claimed in court that MBPD was in breach of EU procedures and that the new move could nullify the entire competition, even if Spencer Dock itself was declared the winner.
