The newly refurbished Pitcher & Piano in Royal Tunbridge Wells has reopened its doors following a £500,000 makeover. Traditional features of the former Georgian house have been retained, but its six rooms have now been decorated in an array of colours, including deep reds, greens and mushroom tones with mirrors adding a contemporary edge. In the summer, customers can enjoy one of two gardens or sit on the balcony to enjoy a meal or a drink.

Office partygoers won't have to go far for some action in the city of London thanks to the opening of the Apt lounge, bar and club in a transformed car park of the Aldermary House office block. Only a two-minute walk from St Paul's Cathedral, the three-bar venue, decorated in concrete, marble and slate, can house up to 200 people for lunch, while in the evening, the sounds of commercial pop and house music will take the over-21s to 2am.

HŠagen-Dazs cafŽ, London
Ice-cream, cookies and now cocktails are all on offer in the new HŠagen-Dazs flagship cafŽ in London's Leicester Square, which is decorated in HŠagen-Dazs ice-cream colours of walnut, coffee and burgundy tones. Rawfish Design has added a separate take-away area and cocktail bar.

Mandeville hotel, London
Snug in the heart of London, with Selfridges as its nearest corner shop and Mayfair a stone's throw away, the Mandeville hotel is looking chic and sophisticated following a £15m makeover. Accommodation has been restyled, with bathrooms decked in Italian marble and black granite. The restaurant and bar areas were designed by interior guru Stephen Ryan, the man behind Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas's homes. The hotel remained open throughout the refurbishment, while the bar and restaurant reopen on 4 April.
