Welsh produce and cooking take centre stage next week at the Welsh Hospitality Catering Show, which is featuring a cookery theatre for the first time.
The theatre, run by Neath College, will feature demonstrations from Welsh chefs including Gareth Johns, chef-proprietor of the Red Lion Inn, New Radnor, and Wayne Williams, head chef, Aberavon Beach hotel, Port Talbot. The exhibition takes place at the Parkhouse Exhibition Centre, Haverfordwest, from 23 to 25 February. ScotHot's FSA debate
The much-debated Food Standards Agency will be the topic of discussion when former Tory minister Edwina Currie and Professor Hugh Pennington (pictured right) address visitors at ScotHot 99 next month.
The debate, entitled Honesty in Politics, is part of ScotHot 99 which takes place at the Scottish Exhibition Centre, Glasgow, 15-18 March. The session is hosted by the Consortium of Caterers and Administrators (in Education).
l The Watson & Philip Scottish Chef of the Year competition is one of the highlights of the ScotHot Salon Culinaire which organisers say is attracting a high standard of competitor.
