Hospital Caterers Association chair Andy Jones honoured by CESA
Andy Jones, national chair of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), has been awarded a Foodservice Order of Merit award from the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA).
The order, which recognises individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in service to the catering industry, is presented every two years to elected leaders of major foodservice industry associations.
Jones was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the hospital catering sector at the 2014 ceremony at Hotelympia last week.
Commenting on the 18 recipients of the CESA Foodservice Order of Merits, from both the UK and overseas, CESA chair Nick Oryino said: "They are the drivers, the movers, the shakers, the people who make it happen. Their passion and commitment enriches our industry. The Foodservice Order of Merit recognises their contribution, and I'm delighted, as chair of CESA, to be involved in making these awards."
On receiving his award, Jones said he was deeply honoured to be "one amongst a very eminent group of recipients".
He added: "I am particularly pleased that the work of the HCA, as the representative body for hospital caterers nationwide, has been singled out for recognition.
"I feel that this is not only about acknowledgement for one person but also for the huge commitment made by NHS and health care caterers nationwide, who day in day out, provide the highest standard of hospital food possible for their patients, staff and visitors in extremely challenging operating circumstances."
