Hanover sells two hotels
Hanover International, the hotel and residential conference centre group, has sold two of its hotels in the north of England to Wade Hotels for a total of £2.75m. The sale of the 38-bedroom Hanover International in Scunthorpe and 47-bedroom Hanover International in Huddersfield should be completed by 9 July. Wade hotels is a small company that also owns the Heath Court hotel in Newmarket, Suffolk. The disposal is another step by Hanover in focusing on tapping into the corporate, conference and training markets. Hanover executive chairman Peter Eyles said: "The sale demonstrates our ability to dispose of those assets which don't fit with our strategy of focusing on four-star properties." The Scunthorpe hotel is one of the six hotels Hanover acquired when it bought the Andrew Weir Hotels group last July for £32.8m. by Nic Paton
