The owner of an Indian restaurant has been fined £8,000 after environmental health inspectors found rats in the kitchen and in a store room.

Motin Ali, owner of the Desh restaurant and takeaway in Bath, pleaded guilty at Bath Magistrates' Court to four health and hygiene offences, and was ordered to pay a further £2,144 in costs on top of the fines.

The inspection took place last September.
