DISMISSAL win

A WAITER last week won his claim for unfair dismissal, despite admitting returning a tip to a customer with the words: "You keep it - you obviously need it more than me."

A tribunal ruled that managers at Café Delancey in north London had given Maurice McParland insufficient warnings before sacking him last February.

But it reduced Mr McParland's compensation by a third to £900 because he had contributed to his sacking with repeated insubordinate behaviour.
