Cains opens first Best of British

North-west brewer and pub operator Cains Beer Company has opened its first Best of British pub, the Market Tavern in Glossop, Derbyshire.

The pub is the first to re-launch after a company-wide £5m investment in refurbishing the former Honeycombe Leisure estate.

The refurbishment programme will see it transform unbranded pubs into a "cohesive branded estate" of pubs under the Cains banner.

Cains chief executive Sudarghara Dusanj said: "It is the first of a number of similar refurbishments we will be completing over the next 12 months as part of our three year investment into our pub estate.

"The Market Tavern is a pioneering venue for these Cains branded community locals which offer the best of British to customers. We are sure it will be a huge success."

The pub was previously named Last Orders and has a new landlord, Stuart Griffiths. The work includes a completely fresh décor and frontage.
