Bunga Bunga to open second site in Covent Garden
Italian-themed bar Bunga Bunga will be opening a ‘huge' second site on Drury Lane in Covent Garden this autumn.
The new Bunga Bunga alone has the potential to increase Inception Group's £12.5m revenues by 50%, founder Charlie Gilkes told The Telegraph.
The original Battersea bar, frequented by Prince Harry and William, was set up by Gilkes and Duncan Stirling.
Gilkes tweeted: "Excited to announce we're opening a 2nd @BungaBungaLDN in Covent Garden this Autumn and don't worry no Italian flag paint scheme planned!"
The brand recently got into hot water for painting the Battersea bar in the colours of the Italian flag ahead of Euro 2016. Wandsworth Council has said the colours are not in-keeping with the Victorian character of the area and has ordered the building to be re-painted white within 28 days or face legal action.
