Brits are Europe's biggest snackers

UK commuters are Europe's biggest consumers of snack products on the move, according to a new report.

The study by market analyst Datamonitor shows that "bored" UK commuters munched and slurped their way through £12.3b worth of snacks in 2004 - an average of £204 a head.
